2018 Gala – John Hoke

Personalized approach

Frequently referring families to Park Academy, I count on Park's remarkably ignited, highly qualified staff for positive personalized approaches to assessing and re-assessing each student's strengths and challenges followed by innovative educational techniques drawn from many disciplines.

Thank You

Having teachers and staff that actually cared about me and challenged me to set and achieve goals made all the difference. I was lost, they helped me find my real self.

Positive Impact

As soon as Malachi started at Park we began to see positive changes in him, his confidence began to grow.  For the first time, he actually like going to school. His academic and reading performance greatly improved after just one year. Park helped him recognize his potential by highlighting his strengths and encouraging him to keep trying.

2018 – An Evening with Larry King and John Hoke

Larry King John Hoke 2018

On June 21, 2018, 250 caring community members raised $300,000 for the Park Academy Scholarship Fund at “An Evening with Larry King and John Hoke”.

After the dinner and auction, Larry King interviewed John Hoke where we learned about John’s discovery of his own gifts and how they led him to become the Chief Design Officer at Nike.

Larry King and John Hoke

We could think of no one more worthy for our inaugural Park Academy Distinguished Achievement award than John Hoke. Whether you have dyslexia, love someone with dyslexia or are just learning about dyslexia, we know that John’s story resonates with everyone. His journey shows the incredible potential of students, who like John, learn differently.

That night we shared the story of one of our students, Skye. Private support helps Park Academy give the gift of literacy to students like Skye. The Park Academy Scholarship Fund provides access to an incredible community that honors and fosters the gifts these students bring to the world. John’s gifts led him to become the Chief Design Officer at Nike. We hope you will join us on the journey to see where our students’ gifts lead them!
