Park Academy senior, Karen Kobrinsky, was recently recognized as a scholar by the National Hispanic Recognition Program. The initial pool of candidates is made up of Hispanic/Lantinx students who score in the top 2.5% nationally on PSAT in their junior year. Students have to submit an application and have an accumulated 3.5 GPA to be considered as a Scholar.
The program recognizes approximately 5,000 Hispanic/Lantinx juniors of the 400,000 students who take the test nationwide. While it is not a scholarship, it is a prestigious award and strengthens students’ applications to colleges and scholarships.
Karen hopes to study Equine Therapy at University. She has a horse named Leo and she rides him 3 -4 times a week. She knows how helpful horses can be to humans and hopes that this program will meld her love for horses and her passion for helping others. Karen recently found out she was accepted to her top choice, the Lake Erie College in Ohio. She is also the recipient of a $17,000 Presidential scholarship.
We are so very proud of Karen!
