Frequently referring families to Park Academy, I count on Park’s remarkably ignited, highly qualified staff for positive personalized approaches to assessing and re-assessing each student’s strengths and challenges followed by innovative educational techniques drawn from many disciplines.

Park Academy is pleased to offer three different summer programs for students elevating into Kindergarten to 8th grade.  These programs are all four weeks in duration: July 8, 2019, through August 2, 2019.

Registration for current Park Academy families is now open.  Families from the community are eligible to apply beginning April 1, 2019.  Deadline to submit an application is May 31, 2019.  Individual class tuitions vary, please see below for descriptions and applications.

Summer School

EXPLORING LITERACY, MATH & SOCIAL SKILLS THROUGH ENRICHMENT AND CREATIVITY

Offered as a half-day or full day option, this class will feature weekly themes of science, technology, writing and/or history.   Through creative projects, students will do a deep dive into the theme, What Makes Oregon Unique?.  In addition, students will engage in collaborative group problem solving, experiential learning and physical fitness.

Grade levels: 3-8

MATHEMATICS INTENSIVE*
This class is full

This class will focus on the conceptual understandings in math-the ability to see and use patterns, conceptualizing the number line, visual memory of math facts, place value, etc. Students will engage in diagnostic, prescriptive, explicit instruction using a multi-sensory approach to improve mathematical computation and problem-solving.

Summer Reading Program at Park Academy

READING INTENSIVE* 
This class is full

This is an Orton-Gillingham-based intensive program. Students will engage in diagnostic, prescriptive, explicit instruction using a multi-sensory approach to improve phonemic awareness, phonological processing, and sight word recognition.

Grade levels: K-8

*Please note that any student not currently enrolled in Park Academy will need to complete an assessment in reading and/or math with our staff prior to starting the program to ensure they are placed appropriately. This is an additional fee of $100 for each reading or math program.
