Thank You

Having teachers and staff that actually cared about me and challenged me to set and achieve goals made all the difference. I was lost, they helped me find my real self.

Positive Impact

As soon as Malachi started at Park we began to see positive changes in him, his confidence began to grow.  For the first time, he actually like going to school. His academic and reading performance greatly improved after just one year. Park helped him recognize his potential by highlighting his strengths and encouraging him to keep trying.

Max Brooks

An evening with

until Spring, 2021

Postponed

We have postponed our June 18, 2020 fundraiser, “An Evening with Max Brooks” until the Spring of 2021.  Stay tuned for more details!

An Evening with Max Brooks will include a dinner and auction, and culminate with Mr. Brooks sharing his experience in how he overcame dyslexia to become a best-selling author and sought after expert on post-apocalyptic survival strategies.

In its sixth year, the Park Academy annual auction is proud to host Mr. Brooks as our keynote speaker. Using fictional metaphor (like zombie lore) and historical events to prompt serious discourse on large-scale problem-solving, Mr. Brooks explores new ways to attack old problems and new concerns. On stage, as with his writing, Mr. Brooks tackles the tougher questions, like what are the threads that hold society together, and what’s really at stake when those threads are stressed, loosed, or torn.

The son of Hollywood legends Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft, Max Brooks is dedicated to challenging and encouraging systems and institutions to think outside the box when problem solving (a common strength of people with dyslexia!).

“An Evening with Max Brooks” will support the educational environment at Park Academy that allows students who struggle, to thrive.
