Ignite. Empower. Imagine.
Mr. Geier teaches students in the areas of Orton Gillingham reading, reading comprehension, Middle and High School Communications, as well as conducting and scoring assessments. He was born in Germany and grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming after his father retired from the Air Force.
As a student, school wasn’t always easy, but he never lost his excitement for learning new things. He always knew that he wanted to help others, so after high school, he began his degree in Social Work. Once Mr. Geier graduated from the University of Wyoming with his Social Work degree, he worked as an adolescent counselor for several years.
He then decided he wanted to work with students in the school setting where he could share his joy for learning and plant seeds for future generations. He went back to school at the University of Northern Colorado to earn his Master’s degree in teaching. After teaching a few years there, Mr. Geier and his wife (who is also a teacher) moved out to Oregon to be closer to family and the beautiful Pacific coast. He has taught in Oregon for over 13 years now, to a wide variety of students, and is so thrilled to be part of the Park Academy community.
When Mr. Geier is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their Sheltie dog named Molly. He also loves music and has fun playing blues guitar with friends and family. He can often be found researching and learning a variety of new things.
