Ignite. Empower. Imagine.
Mr. Geier teaches students in the areas of Orton Gillingham reading, reading comprehension, and morphology. He was born in Germany, and grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming after his father retired from the Air Force.
As a student, school wasn’t always easy, but he never lost his excitement for learning new things. He always knew that he wanted to help others, so after high school he began his degree in Social Work. Once Mr. Geier graduated from the University of Wyoming with his BSW, he worked as an adolescent counselor for several years.
Then, an unexpected turn of events in London led Mr Geier to decide he wanted to work with students in the educational setting, where he could share his joy for learning. He went back to school at the University of Northern Colorado to earn his Master’s degree in teaching. After graduation, he began his teaching career. Mr. Geier and his wife (who is also a teacher) moved out to Oregon to be closer to family and the beautiful Pacific coast. He has taught in Oregon for over 15 years now to a wide variety of students, and is so thrilled to be part of the Park Academy community for the past 7 years.
When Mr. Geier is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their Sheltie dog named Molly. He is also passionate about music and has fun playing guitar with friends and family. You may find him at one of the local record stores searching for hidden vinyl gems, or at the library or Powell’s looking through the new book releases.
