Ms. Jepson is Park’s third-grade teacher as well as one of our Orton-Gillingham reading instructors. She is also the SPED Coordinator for Park Academy. Chelsea was raised in Tigard, OR with her parents and brother. Her mother worked in special education and always came home happy with the most amazing, heartwarming stories. Inspired by her mom’s work, Chelsea decided to follow the same path and pursue a career in the field of special education.
As a freshman, at the University of Montana, Chelsea studied education and dance. After becoming homesick, she decided to continue her schooling at Oregon State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences. After graduation, Chelsea furthered her education at the University of Oregon where she received her Master’s of Science in Special Education and an Oregon Teaching License.
After two years of assisting in the special education department at Tigard High School, Chelsea felt it was time for a change. Networking led her to find Park Academy. She was drawn in by the small student body and contagious passion all teachers had for reaching exceptional students. Everyday Chelsea learns new ways to teach students with learning differences and appreciates them for being a part of her growth as a teacher.
