Ignite. Empower. Imagine.
Curriculum and Literacy Coordinator
Megan Holcomb brings passion for neurodiversity and education to her role at Park Academy, where she’s entering her ninth year. Originally from San Diego, she discovered her calling while interning with an educational organization in Portland during her undergraduate studies at the University of Puget Sound, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Music.
After moving to Portland in 2007, Megan began working for an ABA therapist, providing services for children on the Autism Spectrum. Her advocacy work at IEP meetings inspired her to pursue special education, leading to a Master’s in Special Education from Portland State University’s Inclusive Elementary Education Program in 2011. She honed her expertise as a Learning Specialist in Lincoln County and Tigard-Tualatin school districts before joining Park Academy in 2017. Megan completed her Associate certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy in 2022.
At Park Academy, Megan leads the reading team in curriculum development, assessment, and instructional decisions while coaching teachers in literacy practices across all grades and subject areas. She also coordinates the Park Center Tutoring Program.
When Megan is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, biking, and exploring the Portland culinary scene.
