Diversity Equity and Inclusion Statement

Park Academy was founded on the principle of inclusion and equity, welcoming those who have struggled to find success in traditional learning environments.  We are dedicated to building a community that supports all students who learn differently because dyslexia and language-based learning differences do not discriminate.

We recognize that our students’ identities are comprised of more than just these learning differences. They come from a variety of cultural, racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, family structures, experiences and communities that influence their day-to-day lives.

Our community is represented by different races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, ages, languages, abilities, economic status, and the neurodiversity of its members.  As we embrace our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we aspire to build a community that best serves students, families, faculty, and staff.

At Park Academy we believe that every student should feel safe, known, heard, understood, and valued. We are committed to community-wide diversity and inclusion because students learn best in an atmosphere where multiple perspectives are welcomed.

In order to expand our mission, we are committed to extending our services to historically marginalized communities and providing access to students and families with limited financial means.  We invite donors, partners, and the broader community to join us as we create inclusive classrooms, culturally accessible curriculum, and greater access.

Our board, faculty and staff embrace and understand this journey of making all feel welcomed and included at Park Academy.
