Theater Teacher

Ana Berry was born and raised in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. She grew up immersed in the arts, and spent much of her childhood dancing and acting. Ana first moved to Portland to attend Lewis and Clark College where she earned her undergraduate degree in theater. From there, she moved to the DC area to serve as an Education Apprentice at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland. After spending three years teaching theater, she returned to Seattle and earned her Masters in Teaching at Seattle University.

Ana spent 8 years teaching elementary school in Highline Public Schools and one year as learning support at an independent elementary school. She has worked with students from age 1 to 18, has experience in inclusion, dual language education, and is conversational in Spanish. Throughout her time as a teacher, Ana has been dedicated to cultural responsiveness, celebrating diversity, and partnering with families to find student-centered solutions.

She returns to Portland now with her husband and young son and is excited to continue her career in education at Park Academy. In her spare time she loves reading, watching and playing trivia, cooking, dancing, and making dinosaur/Godzilla-themed crafts with her son.
