Emily is a native Oregonian, born and raised in a small town outside of Salem, Oregon. She has lived in Tigard for the last 20 years with her husband and three children.
Emily earned her Bachelor’s degree in child development and a Master’s in Education from Western Oregon University. She went on to complete her reading interventionist endorsement with a concentration in dyslexia identification and remediation from Eastern Oregon University. She has continued her training in multi-sensory explicit, systematic instruction through Orton-Gillingham and LETRS training. In past years, she has spent time working as a first grade teacher in the Newberg School District and recently began tutoring students at the Blosser Center for Dyslexia.
