Ryan Lockard is a native Oregonian and grew up in Creswell, a small town just south of Eugene. He was a very active child and was recruited to play football in college. Lockard came to Portland to attend Lewis & Clark College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/Anthropology and played football for the Pioneers. Following graduation, he had the opportunity to coach for his alma mater as well as play professionally in Europe.
Lockard will be entering his second year teaching PE for grades 3 – 8 at Park Academy. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Special Populations Specialist (CSPS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is passionate about the positive effects that exercise can have on the lives of our students and their families.
Aside from teaching at Park Academy, Lockard is the founder of Speciality Athletic Training. His business has been providing personal training services tailored exclusively for individuals with disabilities and learning differences since 2012. He is an active advisory board member for the state of Oregon’s NSCA chapter, as well as served on the board for the Autism Society of Oregon and the Autism Society of America.
Ryan lives in West Linn with his wife Mary and sons, Rory (4) & Tatum (1).
