Stefanie Foster

Teacher

Stefanie Foster grew up in San Francisco and has spent much of her life pursuing both the analytical and the creative. She earned a BS in Education and General Studies, followed by a Masters of Science in Education with a concentration and endorsement in Special Education, a path shaped in part by her experience raising a child with severe ADHD and specific learning disabilities. That firsthand journey gave her a deep, personal understanding of how differently children learn and what it takes to help them thrive.

Stefanie’s coursework in history, social science, and government, combined with hands-on classroom teaching experience in social studies, has earned her a reputation among some of her prior students as the “best social studies teacher ever.” Her passion for the subject comes naturally. She’s a committed political junkie who loves helping students make sense of the world’s civic and historical patterns. She’s also an avowed lover of math, and has studied art for many years, with several pieces sold and shown in gallery exhibitions along the way. She is also an exceptional home chef who claims food as her love language.

At the heart of Stefanie’s work is a passion for fostering a growth mindset in the students she works with, and for helping raise responsible, empathetic citizens who are equipped to navigate and improve the world around them.
